Specialist Services for the Elderly
Asset Protection and Long Term Care
Demographics indicate that we have an ageing population, an issue with a particular significance in the South East where we have one of the highest proportion of retired residents than elsewhere in the country. At present approximately 20% of the population is aged 65 and over and this percentage is set to increase in the next few years.
New legal issues are constantly arising in relation to those members of our community who are no longer able to adequately care for themselves. Our specialist team of lawyers who have a background in advising the elderly on financial and inheritance issues are well equipped to deal with such challenging new areas of law.
Whether we are assisting individuals, Attorneys, Deputies or Executors in the affairs of the elderly, we can provide a service appropriate to the client's level of need.
One of the main areas of concern for people are disputes relating to the responsibility for the payment of long term care fees. In those cases, we have experience in advising and assisting clients, ranging from assessing an individual's entitlement to care, submitting an initial challenge to a Primary Care Trust's refusal to fund care for a patient, through to recovery of Care Home charges.
Our team is also happy to advise clients on an estate planning strategy which can be kept under regular review. This review can include such complex issues as financial provision for the clients and family, providing for retirement and implications of long term care.
We have the competence and sensitivity to consider all facets of our elderly clients problems to find effective solutions and to ensure their peace of mind.
We recognise that our elderly clients may not be in a position to visit us at our offices and by prior arrangement we are happy to meet you at home or even in hospital. Please contact a member of our specialist team who will be pleased to assist you:
