Woolley Bevis Diplock’s recent appointments

WBD LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Ellis as chairman of the partners following the retirement of its previous chairman, Chris Bidwell.

In May 2010 Brian will have been a partner with WBD LLP for 20 years.  He takes on the dual role of Chairman and Finance Partner responsible for the financial management of the LLP.  Brian expressed his delight that Chris (a lifelong friend and valued colleague) is remaining with the LLP as a consultant.

Brian Ellis, ChairmanBrian commented: -

Planning for Chris’s succession was always going to be a tough task.  However I am delighted with the way that this has been achieved, particularly bearing in mind the difficult practising conditions of the last eighteen months”.

Brian comments:-

It is a great privilege to be Chairman of WBD LLP with its longstanding and continuing tradition of professionalism and service to clients.

Despite the recession, there have been positive and exciting developments at WBD LLP. We have successfully broadened our expertise and advanced the position of some very able younger solicitors. Amongst these, Paula Archer (Commercial Property) and Alex Bowers (Probate and Trust) have become equity partners. Bibi Fortin Lees has joined us as a partner, adding yet further strength to the Probate and Trust Department. Bibi was previously a partner in the London practice of Taylor Wessing.

Geoff Hindle (Corporate) has joined the firm as an active Consultant working closely with Chris Clifton-Moore in developing that Department. Woolley Bevis Diplock Wealth Management Limited has been formed as a further service for our clients.

I congratulate Rebecca Turnbull-Simpson who became a qualified solicitor at the beginning of April and joins our ever expanding Litigation Department.

With our strong reputation for meeting clients’ expectations we should be very optimistic for the future”, Brian added.
